The questions I hear most
How do I know this is the right therapist for me?
Notice how you feel in the room. Can you be honest here? Do you feel heard, even when it's uncomfortable? Give it two or three sessions to settle. If it still doesn't feel right, that's useful information, and I'd rather you find the right fit than stay out of politeness.
How do I know if I need therapy?
You don't need to be in crisis to start. Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or caught in the same pattern again and again - these are all reasons enough. Therapy offers a space to slow down and understand what's happening beneath the surface, rather than just managing what's on top of it. If something in you is asking the question, that's usually worth listening to.
How is therapy different from talking to a friend?
A friend listens with love, but often through their own lens. In therapy, the focus stays entirely on you - your pace, your experience, nothing to manage on your end. That's an intentional space for you.
I didn't have a good experience with therapy before. What might be different here?
That matters, and we would want to understand what didn't work. Your doubts are welcome here, not something to get past. We build the process together, at a pace that actually fits you.
